History of Grama Panchayat

Meenadam was a region under the jurisdiction of Vennimala, the capital of the ancient Thekkumkoor kingdom. With foreign contact, agricultural growth, and trade development, a commercial center emerged around the Meenadam Valiyanthodu, and military training centers for the king's army operated in the area formerly known as Pallippadam. This prosperous agricultural village, one of the eight regions (Ettukaral) of Pampady in the Kottayam district, was a place where Hindus and Christians coexisted harmoniously for ages, with Muslim families also settling here since 2017.
